The Explore Holyoke community calendar highlights the arts and cultural events throughout the city to help plan your visit. You are invited to submit your event. Events encouraged to be submitted are art openings, dance concerts, open mic events, cultural lectures. Events not allowed on the calendar are, political fundraisers, city meetings and daily specials from restaurants.
Sigils, symbols, signs, intentions. This workshop will discuss how and why to create your own sigil, and how to turn your creation into a hand-carved block, or stamp. Registration includes your own deluxe printing kit.
Based on the book of the same name, come learn the basics of this fun and accessible skill! Embroidery has been used for ages to decorate, to narrate, and to repair. In this workshop you’ll learn a set of basic stitches that will help you build your own designs. We’ll talk about symbology, sigils, and intentions before creating our own custom patches using the stitches we’ve learned. Registration includes your own beginner embroidery kit as well as a few tools for you to continue your stitching journey.
